eStore E-Commerce System Successfully Developed by Panhornic ComMec Inc. (PCI)

TSCM2000 Driver Software Released; “Unmanned Electronic Stores” to Be Implemented by Q3

(Reporter: Song Jian-Sheng / Taichung)

PCI (Panhornic ComMec Inc.), Taiwan’s first company dedicated to the R&D of e-commerce firewall software and hardware, held a presentation yesterday (June 2) at AIDC (Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation) to introduce its TSCM2000 electronic supply chain application system for traditional industries. The company plans to implement this system in the construction of “unmanned electronic stores” by the third quarter of this year.

Chairman Linda Din (丁玲虹 Ding Lin-Hong) of PCI emphasized that this technology has already achieved a leading global position. Coca-Cola recently announced a USD 100 million investment to develop smart vending machines capable of automatically notifying operators for restocking and enabling cashless transactions. However, Taiwan is expected to realize similar functionality before the end of this year.

PCI is currently focused on developing the “eStore” e-commerce system, which consists of four components: TSCM2000 software, VAM hardware, ePay electronic payment cards (contactless TranSmart cards), and firewall systems. Among these, the VAM hardware and TSCM2000 driver software have already been successfully developed.

Regarding the electronic payment card, PCI previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Muhlbauer AG, a major German-affiliated manufacturer of semiconductor and contactless smart card equipment. The company (PCI) has also secured land-use agreements with the Export Processing Zone Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and plans to invest NT$500 million to establish a facility in the Taichung Port warehousing and transshipment zone.

Linda Din stated that TSCM2000 serves as a powerful tool for assisting traditional SMEs in entering e-commerce supply chains. Its key advantage lies in its ability to generate new orders and distribution channels for enterprises adopting the system. This distinguishes it from existing e-commerce software packages on the market, which primarily focus on digitizing documentation and forms.

This intelligent system can transmit daily sales data in real time back to a control center, exerting a decisive impact on logistics integration. Companies participating in the supply chain can immediately access daily sales performance data, anticipate market changes, and accelerate product time-to-market.

The “eStore” initiative by Panhornic ComMec Inc. a technological company aims to establish unmanned electronic stores. Through the widespread deployment of smart vending machines, it will create a comprehensive system encompassing procurement, sales, replenishment, inventory auditing, and stock management, enabling SMEs to enter the e-commerce sector at minimal cost.

The presentation attracted numerous industry participants. Linda Din noted that target franchise sectors for “eStore” include printing and packaging materials, textiles, stationery and toys, sporting goods, daily consumer products, food, gifts, and pharmaceutical/cosmetics industries. In the initial phase, 50 companies will be guided to join the supply chain.

Linda Din had begun researching e-commerce a decade earlier and founded PCI Technology in 1998. The company’s project, titled “Development Plan for Key E-Commerce Firewall and Related Simulation Application Technologies (Software and Hardware),” was admitted to the incubation center of the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) in Taichung, receiving support from both the SME Administration and defense technology programs.
